Use any of the following options to pay your property rates, water rates, dog registrations and all other invoices.

Cash, EFTPOS and credit cards can be used for payments in any of our offices.

Office locations are listed on our Contact Us page.

Payments can be made in real time on our Do It Online portal:

  • property rates
  • water rates
  • dog registration renewals
  • invoices

Register as a user to access your HDC bills and payments or make payments to your HDC accounts anonymously. Anonymous users will require information from your invoice to complete the process.

Do it Online - Payments

Online credit card payments can be made using a Visa or Mastercard, for:

  • property rates
  • water rates
  • dog registration renewals
  • invoices

There is a 1% surcharge on all credit card payments. This is to cover the costs associated with accepting credit card payments.

Information from your invoice will be required to complete the process.

Internet or telephone banking can be used for any payments.

IMPORTANT: You must use the correct details to ensure your money gets credited correctly to your accounts. Each type of account must be set up separately.

Paying Rates or Water accounts

If you have two or more water billing accounts or two or more rateable properties you will need to set up a payment for each one using separate details from your invoice, rates assessments or water bills.

Payble is coming to Hauraki District 18 May

Paying your rates is simple using Payble. It is the recommended way to pay your rates as it provides visibility and flexibility.

  • See your property and water rates information in one place, updated in real time.
  • Choose a payment plan that suits your budget
  • Manage your payments easily, all in one place

Ways to pay

Payments can be made via bank account, debit card or credit card.

There are three (3) types of payments:

1. Flexible payments

Rates can be paid off over the year via scheduled weekly, fortnightly or monthly payments with no penalties.

Payments automatically recalculate:

  • in the new rates year
  • if a payment is skipped
  • if a one-off payment is made

2. Autopay

Rates are automatically paid each year on the due date.

3. One-off payments

Single payments can be made anytime during the year. These can be the full amount or made occasionally.

We recommend the “Flexible payments” option as it gives you the most control — you can see your balances, choose your payment day, skip a payment if necessary, or pay ahead when you’re able.

Rates EasyPay service (direct debit) is free to set up, and there are no additional bank transaction fees payable by you.

You can select weekly, fortnightly, monthly or the instalment option. The weekly, fortnightly and monthly options are processed on your preferred start date and then every chosen frequency thereafter. The instalment option is processed on the last day for payment.

To start paying your rates by direct debit you will need to:

  • download the Rates Easypay application form below or
  • collect the Easypay Form from any of our Offices or
  • phone 07 862 8609 or 0800 734 834 (from within the district) to have an Easypay Form posted to you;
  • fill in the form (you will need to know your bank account number)
  • return it to one of our Hauraki District Council Offices.

IMPORTANT: To ensure your money gets credited correctly to YOUR Rates account it is important that the EasyPay form is returned to Hauraki District Council and not directly to your bank.

Download the Automatic payment form for Property Rates below, fill in with details below and give the the form to your bank. This may be done electronically on your computer and then printed, or by printing first and handwriting the information.

In the Payee details section of the automatic payment form for Property Rates (as shown below) please note the following to ensure your money gets credited to your property rates account.
