Section 32 - Analysis
Assessment of Alternatives, Methods, Benefits and Costs (Section 32 Analysis)
Section 32 of the Resource Management Act requirements
Before publicly notifying the Proposed District Plan the Council had to undertake an evaluation of its proposed provisions. It had to consider if each objective in the Proposed Plan was the most appropriate way to achieve the purpose of the Act, and if the policies, rules and other methods were the most appropriate way of achieving the objectives.
Before making its decision on the submissions the Council had to carry out a further evaluation. The Section 32 analysis has been updated to reflect this.
The purpose of the Act is to promote the sustainable management of natural and physical resources.
