Wharekawa Coast 2120 Community Plan
What you’ll find in the Community Plan
This Community Plan commits to future actions by the partner councils. It identifies:
- who is responsible for undertaking the actions,
- when they will be done, and
- how success will be measured.
The community plan is an adaptive plan that the councils will review regularly to:
- keep up with changes in community values,
- keep up with new or amended legislation,
- consider new or improved scientific knowledge and technical data, and
- assess whether the preferred actions and pathways are still viable or whether they need to be changed or replaced.
Some of the climate change actions identified in the plan can only be implemented once Central Government provides guidance on who is responsible for undertaking and funding adaptation actions.
