THAT the minutes of the meeting of the Paeroa Ward Committee held on Tuesday 15 June 2010 are confirmed and are a true and correct record.

MATTERS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES
Trust Waikato – Mobile Art Caravan
The members advised that they were still interested in the mobile art caravan coming to Paeroa.
The Community Services monthly report on activities was presented for the Committee’s consideration.
THAT the Community Services monthly report be received.

REQUESTS FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
The Paeroa Ward Committee has been allocated $9,132 for discretionary grants during this 2010/11 financial year.
Tirohia Hall Society: the Society has decided to demolish their hall in the very near future and arranged to go into dissolution. For some years the Society have been contemplating this action and have finally and reluctantly achieved closure of a long standing service to their rural community. Proceeds from residual assets are to be for the benefit of the local school.
The Society has verbally requested that the Ward Committee consider meeting the costs of the demolition consent of $375.00 incl. GST ($333.34 excl. GST).
THAT the Ward Committee grants $375.00 (incl. GST) to the Tirohia Hall Society in support of costs of demolition consent.

Road Reserve Trees – Station Road
Staff has received a request from an elderly resident living at 72 Station Road to have the tree outside the property removed because of the leaves that fall in Autumn.
THAT the request to remove the tree outside the property at 72 Station Road be declined.

L & P Bottle - Request
Council has received a request from the Girl Guides who are promoting Breast Cancer Awareness. For the month of October they would like to place a large bra made from chicken wire and fabric on the L & P bottle at Ohinemuri Park to help with this.
THAT the request to place a large bra on the L& P bottle at Ohinemuri Park is declined but members would support that a pink ribbon is placed around the bottle as part of the promotion for Breast Cancer Awareness.

A report from the Roading Manager was presented concerning two minor road safety projects for the consideration of the Committee. The projects involved speed calming measures in Station Road and additional mobility parking outside the Medical Centre.
THAT the report be received; and
THAT for speed calming measures in Station Road Paeroa option 2 detailed in clause 2.3 of the roading report be approved for implementation; and
THAT a second mobility parking space be permanently installed outside the Paeroa Medical Centre.
