MATTERS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES
Tayland Developments - Primrose Hill and Taylors Reserve Walkways
It was requested that the Parks and Reserves Manager investigates approximate costs in developing the walkways and advise the Committee in due course. It was advised that a meeting between the Parks and Reserve Manager and Mr Laurie Smith of Tayland Developments to discuss this project has been held.
Positive Paeroa Presentation
Positive Paeroa - Town Promoter, Aniee Harris presented a report outlining the promotional work carried out by Positive Paeroa.
The Community Services monthly report on activities was presented for the Committee’s consideration.
THAT the Community Services monthly report be received.

REQUESTS FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Positive Paeroa Inc. 
A request from the Town Promoter for financial assistance towards the creation of a sculpture has been received.
It was agreed that $1,500.00 be granted towards the cost of the sculpture. The Committee stressed that Council needs to be involved in the decision of where the sculpture is to be placed.
THAT the correspondence be received; and
THAT $1,500.00 be given in response to the application, towards the cost of the sculpture and that the Paeroa Ward Deputy Chairperson and the Parks and Reserves Manager talk to other staff members and Environment Waikato about the placement of the sculpture.

PAEROA WAR MEMORIAL HALL VENTILATION SYSTEM
The Property Manager and the Facilities Manager presented information and costs for a Ventilation System at the Paeroa War Memorial which could solve the problem of condensation in the winter and high temperatures in the summer.
After discussion, the decision was made not to accept either quotes that were presented, but to continue with the existing system of open windows and extractor fans.
PARKS AND RESERVES
Paeroa Domain – Rugby League
Rugby League has requested the use of the Paeroa Domain to play some of their matches this season. A letter was presented with the dates and times of these matches.
THAT the correspondence be received; and
THAT Crs Milner, Thorp and the Parks and Reserve Manager meet to discuss accommodating Rugby League at the Paeroa Domain.

Paeroa Domain Mowing
The members were advised that a reel mower has been purchased by Councils Construction and Maintenance Unit to mow the No.1 field, running track and the cricket pitch at Centennial Park.
Paeroa Main Street – Street Cleaning
A letter was received from the Town Promoter of Positive Paeroa requesting Council consider a review of the present street cleaning regime in Paeroa.
THAT the correspondence be received.

The Committee requested that the Parks and Reserves Manager provide a report to a future meeting on the most effective way to keep the main street of Paeroa clean.
Paeroa Skate Park
A quote of $90,000 (plus GST) has been received from Andrews Landscaping Ltd for the construction of a skate park at Railway Reserve. The exact location of the park on the reserve still needs to be decided and if a resource consent is required.
THAT the quote from Andrews Landscaping of $90,000 (plus GST) for the construction of a skate park at Railway Reserve be accepted.
