Railway Reserve - BBQ
Mr Gerry Baker from Lions Paeroa attended the meeting to speak to this item.
The Paeroa Lions have held a meeting and decided they will fund $12,000 towards the construction of a new BBQ and shelter at Railway Reserve. This funding would provide for the concrete foundation and shelter for the BBQ. Staff suggested that a higher standard of electric BBQ would provide a superior level of amenity with less operating costs.
This would require the Ward Committee to fund $998.00 for the additional cost of the BBQ.
Staff estimated the total cost for power connection and consent will be approx. $1,500.00.
THAT the Ward Committee approves funding of an additional $998.00 from the Paeroa Community Recreational Facilities Development Fund to cover the cost of the BBQ.

This area is designated as a dog exercise area with people walking their dogs along the cycleway and stop bank regularly.
