Local Councils Working Together

The Thames Valley Emergency Operating Area has combined website to prepare everyone in the Hauraki, Matamata-Piako and Thames-Coromandel districts in the event of a civil defence emergency.

The Thames Valley Operating Area covers three districts and includes three councils:

  • Hauraki District Council
  • Matamata-Piako District Council
  • Thames-Coromandel District Council

Not only do the three councils experience similar disasters but rarely does a particular event limit itself to the extent of a council boundary. A consistent approach with consistent messages getting out to the community in the event of an emergency is a benefit for all.

Civil Defence Maps and Civil Defence Schedule

For easy location and reference of civil defence warnings in the Hauraki District, we now have a dedicated civil defence map application. Locations of issues are plotted on our map and listed in an easy to view schedule which conveniently links to the specific location on the map.

Note - Civil Defence Warnings shown on the council maps are located in the vicinity of the actual area.
