Waste Management NZ Limited has lodged a resource consent with the Hauraki District Council and Waikato Regional Council for consent to establish, operate and maintain a Landfill Site, known as Tirohia Landfill Phase C, for the collection of approximately 3 million cubic metres of waste over an area of 15ha, including extension and continued operation of a renewable energy plan utilising landfill gas.
Independent Commissioners Decision
Independent Commissioners have declined the application by Waste Management NZ Ltd to expand its landfill operation in Tirohia. The decision is subject to a 15 working day appeal period.
