A report from the Strategic Planning Projects Manager and Corporate Services Manager was presented regarding the Long Term Plan 2012-22.

The Corporate Services Manager tabled draft estimates for the ten years of the Long Term Plan (LTP).  Also included in the estimates were the current year’s budget and the dollar and percentage variances between the first year of the LTP and the current year’s budget.

The prioritised kerb and channel programme for the next five years was presented.

**It was noted that the 2011 projects have been intentionally included for Members information as some of these projects, as at the writing of this report may not have yet been completed.

Roading tables to be amended and re-distributed to Waihi Ward Committee so they can see the exact locations of the projects. This is to be done as soon as possible. (Action: District Engineer/Roading Manager).

It was also requested that the ‘type’ of footpath be noted in the footpath tables for elected members to see, i.e. chip, concrete etc. (Action: District Engineer/Roading Manager).

Abbott Road Waikino – need to check the survey, see if the local residents actually wanted any footpaths in this road. (Action: District Engineer/Roading Manager)

The Community Development Officer presented a report regarding a submission received from Go Waihi to the Long Term Plan 2012-22.

The Co-ordinator writes requesting an increase of the annual funding due to increased operating and promotional costs. Currently the figure is $91,000 annually.

RESOLVED

THAT the report be received, and

THAT a grant to Go Waihi Inc. be provided for in the Draft Long Term Plan as per the following:

  • 2012/13 $102,737
  • 2013/14 $102,737
  • 2014/15 $102,737

Draft Letter of Agreement between Go Waihi and HDC

A draft Letter of Agreement prepared by the Community Development Officer was presented outlining HDC requirements to assist in the management and monitoring of accountability requirements for the grant.

The members in considering the draft agreement were in support of the conditions stated in the letter detailing what Go Waihi’s annual funding covers.


Letter of Appreciation to Go Waihi Co-ordinator

Cr McLean agreed to send a letter of appreciation on behalf of the Waihi Ward Committee to the Go Waihi Co-ordinator, Brian Gentil thanking him and his team for all their efforts and hard work in organising events and promoting Waihi.

The meeting closed at 3.50pm.
