MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE WAIHI WARD COMMITTEE HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS, WILLIAM STREET, PAEROA ON TUESDAY 11 MARCH 2014 COMMENCING AT 2.30 PM

CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES
THAT the minutes of the meeting of the Waihi Ward Committee held on Tuesday February 2014 are confirmed and are a true and correct record.

The Community Development Officer’s monthly report was presented for the Committee’s consideration.
THAT the Community Development monthly report be received.

There were no requests for financial assistance.
The Mayor attended the meeting at 2.35pm.

Sport ‘n’ Action Trust
The Community Services Manager spoke on the meeting which he and Cr Shepherd had attended on the redevelopment of Morgan Park.
At the meeting, the members were updated on the progress of the project and were advised of the resignation of Mark Samson as Chairperson of the Trust.
It was advised that residents affected by the development have been notified as part of the consent process.
Waihi Community Facilities and Recreational Development Fund Projects
Siting of Mining Bogger to Central Waihi Carpark
A project manager has been assigned to this project and the work will be undertaken in April 2014.
The Community Services Manager presented the notes from Whiritoa Public Meeting held on Auckland Anniversary Day - 27 January 2014.
The District Engineer reported on a request received for a contribution in the form of upgrading the entrances to the development known as "The Hub" that has street frontage to 4 Haszard Street and 6 Martha Street, Waihi.
THAT the report be received, and
THAT Option 3 be supported that the Martha Street entrance ($3,510) and the single option for the Haszard Street entrance ($2,920) be accepted for Council funding, and
THAT Council authorisation be sought to exceed the 2013/14 budget provision by $6,430.

DISCUSSION ON 2015-25 HAURAKI LONG TERM PLAN PRE-CONSULTATION
It was agreed that a discussion be held after the meeting to review the proposed schedule of meetings with the Waihi Ward communities as part of the pre-consultation phase of the Hauraki Long Term Plan.
The meeting closed at 3.05pm.
