MATTERS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES


Morgan Park Netball Courts

The trees and playground equipment that were a hindrance to the new netball court have been removed and work on the court is scheduled to begin on Friday 19 March 2010.

Waihi Memorial Hall

The Councillors were invited to visit the Waihi Hall and give consideration to the necessity of replacing the existing carpet in the small hall and foyer. If the Councillors are in agreement that the life of the carpet can be extended for 3 years, the funding allocated will be used to finance replacing the blinds in the small hall.


PARKS AND RESERVES


Morgan Park – Soccer Club Lights

The Soccer Club have requested the unused lights that are situated on the southern field of Morgan Park be moved to the soccer field to increase the visibility for training at night. A letter from the Soccer Club is attached.

There is a problem with establishing ownership of the lights and nothing can be actioned until ownership is established.

RESOLVED

THAT the letter be received; and

THAT this request be left in abeyance until ownership of the lights is established.

WAIHI EVENT CENTRE – PROPOSED MANAGEMENT CONTRACT: SPORT ‘N’ ACTION WAIHI (CR SHEPHERD) (546100)

A report from the Community Services Manager was presented regarding the Waihi Events Centre proposed management contract with Sport ‘n’ Action Waihi.

RESOLVED

THAT the report be received; and

THAT the partial management of the Waihi Event Centre be contracted out to Sport n Action and a sub committee be formed to negotiate the contract with Sport n Action.
