RIVER ROAD KINDERGARTEN DEVELOPMENT (1274201, 1259510) (770 KB) Adobe Acrobat PDF document

The District Engineer and Roading Manager reported on a request for Council assistance to have parking and access facilities established along the road frontage.

Part of the area that is to be upgraded for use by the Kindergarten overlies a services easement. The applicant was advised on site that this easement area provides for Council’s underground services. All structures including pavement installed in this location are there at Council’s pleasure. For any work done on the services, normal trench reinstatement standards will apply, no reinstatement of any paving affected would be undertaken at Council’s cost.

For the parking area to operate satisfactorily some road improvements would be required and these would need to be co-ordinated with construction of the parking area itself.

It was recommended that the Ward Committee consider seeking Councils approval for construction of the kerb and channel and footpath at a ROC of $6800, concurrently with the Kindergarten paving improvements; that funding be sourced from the subsidised Drainage Improvement or Minor Improvement budgets and that a variation to the budget provision be approved for this purpose.

RESOLVED

THAT the report be received, and

THAT the Ward Committee recommend to Council that approval be given for construction of the kerb and channel and footpath at a ROC of $6800, concurrently with the Kindergarten paving improvements, and

THAT funding be sourced from the subsidised Drainage Improvement or Minor Improvement budgets, and

THAT a variation to the budget provision be approved for this purpose.
