Could you or someone you know benefit from these great FREE driver refresher courses?

East Waikato Road Safety together with Age Concern are hosting simple yet effective driver refresher courses for over 60s in Paeroa on August 8, Waihi on September 11 and Ngatea on September 19.

It's so simple all you need to do is call Thames-Coromandel District Council: 07 868 0200 to book.

Course details

You don't need your vehicles and there are no tests or assessments. We run a fun classroom session with morning tea!

During the course, we will go over:
• Road Rules & defensive driving tips
• Intersection rules and roundabouts
• Prescription drugs and driving
• Rural and urban driving

Ngatea Allyson McAulay and Gloria Hewittcropped

A fun refresher

Allyson McAulay and Gloria Hewitt, both from Ngatea, went to a previous course: “It’s been a while since I sat my driving licence”, Allyson said.

“I asked a friend and she was keen so we went together – it was lots of fun and if you’re driving I thoroughly recommend it to others.”

Both women felt their confidence improved after the course and they had a better understanding of roundabouts and intersections.

Dates and times

All courses will be held from 9:15am until 1pm.

August 8: Hauraki District Council office, 1 William St, Paeroa

September 11: Waihi Baptist Church, Corner of Gilmore and Kenny Streets, Waihi

September 19: Ngatea Memorial Hall, Orchard West Rd, Ngatea
