Balancing act for farmers

It's been a balancing act for our farmers as they manage drought conditions as well as the COVID-19 lockdown.
We're conscious of the extra pressures for our communities, with our farmers still managing the effects of the summer drought. Please talk to us about a payment plan or payment holiday for your rates if needed. We're here to help.

Important helpline numbers for farmers

Industry groups and MPI have also launched a stock feed planning service for all farmers nation-wide. Toll free numbers – Drystock farmers call 0800 BEEFLAMB (0800 233 352), dairy sector 0800 4DAIRYNZ (0800 4 324 7969.  Rural Support Trust also continues to provide its psychosocial support service: 0800 787 254 (0800 RURAL HELP) by talking over the phone or on skype/zoom during lockdown. We encourage farmers to connect with these vital services.

Remember, there is also help available from the Rural Support Trust, Work and Income and your bank.
