While the libraries are closed during Level 3:
- Please do not return items to our after-hours bins. We have extended the loan period for issued items. Please hold on to your library books, DVDS and magazines until the library reopens.
- Overdue fees will not accrue while the library is closed. Please disregard any automatic emails you may receive regarding overdue items.
- If you requested items before we closed, we will hold these for you and they will be available for you to pick up when we reopen.
Easy access to online resources
While our buildings are closed, we do still have a range of online resources and programmes available for you to enjoy. Our free Hauraki District Libraries App allows you to manage your library account, as well as offering you easy access to online resources, such as PressReader and Story Box Library. More information about the app can be found on our website: https://library.hauraki-dc.govt.nz/check-out-our-new-hauraki-district-libraries-app/
Access our e-books and e-audios for free
You do not need an ereader to access our ebooks – most smart phones and tablets are suitable, using the ePlatform App (by Wheelers Books). For details about how to access our ebooks and e-audios please see our website: https://library.hauraki-dc.govt.nz/borrow-ebooks-for-free/
Term 2 reading challenge for children and online book chat group
We also have a new term two reading challenge for children, and an online book chat group, for people who enjoy chatting about the books they have been reading. If you are interested in joining us for one, or both of our virtual book chat sessions, please email us firstname.lastname@example.org and we will send you more information.
We continue to add activities, competitions and links to fun ideas and helpful information on our Hauraki District Libraries Facebook Page. This includes our new Recycled Book Art Competition for children, teens, and adults.
