SH2 Ngatea open to one lane for west bound traffic

NZ Transport Agency has advised that SH2 within the Ngatea CBD is now open to one way west bound traffic (Bay of Plenty to Auckland) under a 30kph Temporary Speed Limit, from Monday 10 February 2020.

East bound traffic (Auckland to Bay of Plenty), will continue to be detoured via State Highway 25 and Hauraki Road, with access to Ngatea via Pipiroa Road.

It's great to see traffic flowing through the town. If you are heading that way, please stop and visit the local shops. They would love to see you!

Stage 2 construction

Stage 2 construction is now underway and involves road renewal and kerb replacement work from Dent St to just past the pedestrian crossing adjacent to the Ngatea Primary School. It’s expected this stage of the project will run for about six weeks from 9am Monday 10 February.

Ngatea remains fully open for business

Signed routes via SH2 and Pipiroa Road will be in place to guide traffic to and from the Ngatea CBD while the one-way detour is in operation. Keep shopping local, the businesses really appreciate everyone’s support.
