State Highway 25
State Highway 25 is closed between Tairua and Whitianga due to flooding at Wade Road.
Rahu Road, Mackaytown, is closed about 200m from the SH2 intersection due to a fallen tree blocking both sides of the road.
Detour via Victoria and Albert Streets.
Rubbish & recycling - Residents are advised rubbish and recycling won’t be collected in the Rahu Road area today due to the road closure.
Karangahake Gorge surface flooding in places
Surface flooding from culverts is happening at several places in the Gorge but the level of Ohinemuri river level is not an issue currently and is being closely monitored.
High winds causing havoc for recycling collectors
Lots of wheelie bins have been blown over so we would really appreciate it if you could either hold off putting them out until the next collection date, or bring them in as soon as you can after they've been emptied.
If you haven't already, now's a good time to buy one of our wheelie bin clips. The clips attach to your bin lid to keep it closed until released by hand, or when the bin is turned upside down, and are available from our offices for $10.
