Is a new Building or Resource Consent on your Christmas wish list?

You'll need to get a jingle on...

By law, the period from Monday 20 December 2021 to Monday 10 January 2022 is excluded from the 20 working day processing period (also known as the statutory processing clock).

This means applications received after the clock has stopped on Friday 17 December 2021 may not be processed until Tuesday 11 January 2022.

Building and Resource Consent applications

Current applications that are not signed off before Friday 17 December may also be paused until Tuesday 11 January 2022.

There are a few things you can do to plan for delays.
  • When submitting new applications, make sure you've included everything as we can't accept incomplete applications.
  • Book a free appointment with our Duty Planner and Building Officer as soon as possible.
  • If your application is affected by the statutory shutdown period, let your agent or builders know to expect a delay.
LIM applications

Standard LIM's (Land Information Memorandum) required before Christmas need to be in by 9am Monday 6 December. URGENT LIM applications must be in by 9am Wednesday 15 December.
