Are you passionate about climate change?

The He Pou a Rangi Climate Change Commission's Draft Advice Report is out and they want to hear from the public, so we're spreading the word on our social media channels and we hope you'll participate, however you feel about climate change.

He Pou a Rangi - Independent, evidence based advice

The Commission provides independent, evidence based advice to the government on climate change and has released its first significant report advising the way forward to a low carbon emissions Aotearoa New Zealand.

You can read the Draft Advice Report and join the korero by making a submission. Submissions close on 14 March 2021.

What are we doing about climate change?

We're looking at ways we can proactively reduce our emissions over the coming years as we all have a part to play. We’re focusing on our organisation emissions first as we want to get our own house in order. Then we’ll talk with our communities about the district emissions and work with iwi, business, youth and the wider community to achieve our collective goals. Making a plan for our district is a good way to build a common understanding of the issues and identify opportunities for collaborative action. Take a look at how we're giving a hand to our climate action pathway
