Are you making the most of our libraries?
There's never been a better time to check out our libraries!
This month we're trialling new late night hours AND doing a shout out about an amnesty on overdue charges until 30 June, thanks to funding from the New Zealand Libraries Partnership Programme, which is part of the Government's COVID recovery response.
If you’re a ‘get it all done in the morning’, or a ‘need an extra hour in the day’ person, we have you covered!
Our late nights mean you won’t miss out if you can’t make it to the library during normal business hours.
We're now open from 9:30am instead of 10am, Monday to Friday in Paeroa and Waihi (and 9:30am – 12:30pm Saturdays) and for the early birds, Ngatea library is open from 8am - 4:30pm Monday to Friday.
‘Late night shopping’ at our Paeroa and Waihi Libraries
Make a list! You’ll be surprised how much you can do.
Pick up the latest best seller, browse your favourite magazines; research your family tree on Ancestry, get some peace and quiet (that never goes astray after a busy day), grab a DVD for a movie night and more!
If you can’t get there during normal business hours, make 4:30-5:30pm your happy hour at the Paeroa or Waihi library!
We’re trialing these new hours till the 24 June, so we’d love to see you there.
Spread the word - amnesty on overdue charges till 30 June 2021!
The impact of the 2020 drought and COVID-19 is still being felt in our district, so we’ve applied for funding from the New Zealand Libraries Partnership Programme, which is part of the government’s COVID recovery response, for an amnesty on all overdue charges, until the 30 June.
We don’t want outstanding overdue charges to be a barrier to anyone accessing the library during these tougher economic times. Happily, there’s no need to stay away anymore – everyone is encouraged to visit the libraries before the 30 June to have any overdue charges wiped and to start afresh.
If you can’t get to us during the day remember we’re open till 5:30pm Wednesdays in Paeroa and 5:30pm Thursdays in Waihi.
