Passion, anticipation, vision - the plotline for the Ngatea library and service centre has it all!
Here's where we are in the story....
Since we last talked, our architect has been busy creating design options for the new Ngatea library and service centre. His work has been guided by your vision which is captured in our community book
We can't wait to share the proposed designs with you - it looks like they'll be ready about the end of July. When they're ready, we'll share them with you at our Ngatea library and service centre, and online, and you can tell us what you think.
Once the plans are finalised it's expected to take about two years until the key is turned in the new door lock.
We'll keep you updated as each new chapter of the story unfolds.

Here's a quick recap...
After extensive community feedback Council decided the proposed new library and service centre would stay on the existing site. More community feedback, providing valuable insights and a vision for what's possible, was captured in a community book.
A working party was formed to turn this feedback into a compelling brief for architects to incorporate into their plans and designs.
The working party is chaired by Deputy Mayor Paul Milner and includes community members Joss Walker from Ngatea and Julie Bubb from Paeroa.
