Should Vehicles be allowed on our beaches?
Have a say on your bylaws.
Local government bylaws are rules that local councils make in consultation with their communities to help make their place a safe and healthy place to live. They cover things of local interest like keeping animals in towns, using vehicles on beaches, or the number of cemetery plots a person can purchase the right of burial for.
At the moment we are proposing some changes to our bylaws, and want to know what you think.
Proposed changes include improvements to the way food businesses are graded, relaxing the rules about using wharves and boat ramps, new rules about keeping pigs and bees in town, and more clarity about the Council’s ability to remove tributes that are making it difficult to keep cemeteries tidy and well maintained.
Full details of these proposed changes and the bylaws under review are available on our Council website https://weneedtotalk.hauraki-dc.govt.nz or call into any of our service centres or libraries.
