Update your dogs details
Update your dog’s details, including de-sexing or microchipping details online or by coming in to one of our Council Service Centres.
We also require a copy of the de-sexing and/or microchipping certificates as evidence. You can upload these files when completing the online form or we can take a copy if you come to one of our Council Service Centres.
Change your contact details
If you need to update your details, such as address, phone number or email please download, complete and return the following form or call into one of our Council Service Centres and we can update these details.
Transfer of dog ownership
If you sell or give away your dog you will need to let us know so we can update your details. To transfer ownership of your dog, please complete the online form or call into one of our Council Service Centres to complete a form. You will need to know the name and contact details of the new owner when completing the form.
Ownership will not be transferred until we have written permission from both the old and new owners and you will be advised when this process is completed.
If you are wanting to transfer ownership of a dog that is classified as dangerous, you must apply to us in writing prior to rehoming the dog as the new property will need to meet the fencing requirements. Email the details to info@hauraki-dc.govt.nz and our Animal Management team will be in touch to discuss this further.
Death of a dog
If you dog has died or been put down, you must let us know as soon as you can.
You may be eligible to have part of your registration fee refunded. This can be refunded to a nominated bank account. Let us know by filling out the online form or call into one of our Council Service Centres.
If you have a copy of a death certificate, you can upload the certificate when completing the online form or we can take a copy if you come to one of our Council Service Centres.
