Who May Apply for a Temporary Authority?

Any person who appears to the Licensing Committee to have any right, title, estate, or interest in any premises may make application for a Temporary Authority.

The Licensing Committee may on application authorise an applicant to carry on the sale and supply of alcohol for a period of up to 3 months, on any premises that has an on-licence or off-licence in force.

Procedure to Process Application

The application shall be made on the prescribed Application for Temporary Authority - Form 16 [PDF, 95 KB] pdf.gif available on line or from the Hauraki District Council office and must be accompanied with the fee. See Alcohol Licensing Fees.

The Licensing Committee may hear and determine the application without notice or set a time and place for a hearing of the application.

Granting of Application

In granting an application for an order for a Temporary Authority, the Committee may impose such reasonable conditions as it thinks fit. The authority authorises the sale and supply of alcohol for a period not exceeding 3 months.
