Cemetery services are still available, with gatherings of up to 50 people now allowed (e.g. burial services at the cemetery) during Level 2. Food and drink is now permitted. Hauraki District Council administers three public cemeteries, two memorial walls and one ashes wall, within the district.

Waihi Cemetery

Paeroa (Pukerimu) Cemetery

for lawn burials, ashes burials and Returned Services Association (RSA) burials.  Situated on State Highway 2 at the corner of Old Reservoir Road, 2kms east of Paeroa, heading towards Waihi. Find out more about Paeroa (Pukerimu) Cemetery

Memorials and Plaques

A permit to install a memorial or plaque in one of the Hauraki District Council administered Cemeteries, must be obtained before any work is carried out.  Find out about the requirements for erecting a memorial or plaque.
