Alert : Playgrounds Closed
Following the Prime Minister’s announcement that the country is now at level three alert and will go to level 4 alert at 11:59pm Wednesday (25 March) our number one priority is the well being of our communities and staff. The announcement means that our playgrounds are closed, however people are still allowed to go out, on their own, for fresh air and exercise.
The Paeroa Railway Reserve is so named as it originally had the old Paeroa to Thames railway line running through it. That line has since become part of the Hauraki Rail Trail.
The Railway Reserve playground and skate park is in the perfect location for residents and passing motorists. It's a great spot for travelling families to park, picnic and play, and a popular spot for locals.
The skate park is popular facility for local skateboarders and scooter riders. Members of the Paeroa community including local skaters were instrumental in it's design and creation.
Playground for all ages
The playground caters for all ages with equipment available suited to park-goers from the very young to the 'young at heart'.
Cross generational playgrounds are gaining popularity worldwide with a variety of equipment designed to provide low impact exercise with a particular focus on balance and mobility.
You will find the Railway Reserve on the corner of Belmont Road and Puke Road opposite the L&P Cafe at the northern end of town.
The reserve also has a number of sites specifically set aside for freedom camping and includes a dump station. Find out more about Freedom Camping in the Hauraki District
