For a list of participating brands and products that will be accepted at our collection sites visit the website www.agrecovery.co.nz . There is no additional cost to the product end user to take an eligible container back to an Agrecovery collection site.
For all other non Agrecovery brands and containers there is a user pay sticker that can be purchased from the website and applied to your triple rinsed agrichemical and animal remedy containers. Once applied to your containers they will be accepted at all Agrecovery collection sites. Remember that they must also be triple rinsed and clean to be accepted.
Follow these simples steps to ensure your containers are accepted...
Triple or pressure rinse your containers immediately after use.
Pour the RINSE WATER back into your spray tank. Repeat three times.
Clean outside of container thoroughly to make sure all chemical residue is removed. (see Cleaning tips below)
REMOVE lids, discard and puncture holes in the container. This allows it to dry thoroughly. Do NOT remove the container label.
Is the container eligible? Check the brand registry, or look for the Agrecovery logo on the container, or purchase some stickers!
Check for details on where your local collection site is and when it is open and deliver your clean empty, dry containers.
Agrecovery is a voluntary product stewardship programme for the sustainable recovery of triple rinsed agriculture and forestry sector plastic containers. The nationwide initiative was officially launched in Nelson on 19th April 2007 by the hon. David Benson-Pope, Minister for the environment.
“The new recycling scheme is leading the way in making New Zealand the first sustainable country in the world”, Environment Minister David Benson-Pope said. The Minister congratulated the scheme developers for providing growers, farmers, foresters, and other primary industry chemical users with an environmentally safe way of disposing of their unwanted plastic containers.
Agrecovery is supported by participating agrichemical brand owners, rural retailers, regional and district councils and primary industry. This nationwide collection and processing scheme is financed by a levy collected by participating brand owners and paid to the Agrecovery foundation to deliver the programme.
