Due to Monday, 27 April 2015 being a statutory holiday, collections scheduled for the week of 26 April to 2 May will be carried out a day later than normal.

Situation Vacant

Part-time Library Assistant

Hauraki District Council is looking for someone with excellent customer service and proven teamwork skills to join our Hauraki libraries team. Ideally you will have library career aspirations and a passion for literature and reading.

The hours of work will be a minimum of 5 hours per week on a rostered basis – usually worked at the Waihi library, as well as two Saturday mornings per month - usually to be worked at the Paeroa Library. You will also be required to work additional hours as required at any of the three libraries in the Hauraki District on an on-call basis.

To be successful in this role you will need to have the ability to work with a diverse range of people and have the ability to multitask in a busy environment. A good working knowledge of a range of software programmes, database searching, social media, internet and great keyboard skills is also essential.

If you’re looking for a part-time role and have the flexibility to work on Saturdays and do extra hours as required then this could be the opportunity for you.
