Pursuant to Section 65 of the Local Electoral Act 2001, I hereby give notice that the following persons have been duly nominated as candidates for the offices listed below:

 and there being in each case more candidates than there are vacancies to be filled, an election will be held as between the said candidates under the First Past the Post system by postal vote conducted over the voting period from 16 September 2016 to 8 October 2016. The final day for voting is 12 noon Saturday 8 October 2016.

Council has resolved that voting documents received in the voting period above will be processed during that period pursuant to Section 79 of the Local Electoral Act 2001. And, that candidate names will be listed on the voting documents in alphabetical order.

Voting documents must be returned by post or delivered not later than 12 noon on Saturday 8 October 2016 to the Electoral Officer.

Special voting in terms of the Local Electoral Act 2001 and the Local Electoral Regulations may be exercised at the following offices of the Hauraki District Council during normal office hours between 16 September and 12 noon 8 October 2016 - 84 Orchard West Road, Ngatea; 1 William Street, Paeroa; 40 Rosemont Road, Waihi.

A person can apply to enrol as either a residential or ratepayer elector right up to and including Friday 7 October 2016 – the day before close of voting.
