Revocation of Fire Bylaws

In accordance with section 152B(1) of the Local Government Act 2002 the Hauraki District Council Fire Prevention Bylaw Involving Vegetation 1993, and the Franklin District Council Fires in the Open Air Bylaw 2008 were revoked by the Hauraki District Council at its meeting on Wednesday, 26 September 2018. In accordance with the Fire and Emergency Services New Zealand Act 2017, Fire and Emergency New Zealand now govern and administer the fire matters that were included the Council’s fire bylaws. For information on fire seasons, obtaining fire permits and fire risk please visit the Fire and Emergency New Zealand website
