Changes to our Bylaws

Solid Waste Bylaw 2019, Drainage Bylaw 2019 and Water Supply Bylaw 2019

After inviting and considering feedback from the public, we have adopted our Solid Waste Bylaw 2019 and our Water Supply Bylaw 2019 at an extraordinary Council meeting on Wednesday, 14 August 2019. We adopted our Drainage Bylaw 2019 at a Council meeting on Wednesday, 28 August 2019. These bylaws were reviewed under section 156 of the Local Government Act 2002 and will be effective 1 September 2019.

Revocation of Franklin District Council Bylaws

After inviting feedback from the public, we have revoked the Franklin District Council Water Supply Bylaw 2008, the Franklin District Council Waste Bylaw 2009 at an extraordinary Council meeting on Wednesday, 14 August 2019. These bylaws will cease to be in effect on 1 September 2019.

Separation of our other bylaws

We’ve made some minor administrative changes and corrections to Part 4 (Trade Waste and Wastewater) of our consolidated bylaw. This included splitting it into a standalone bylaw. The changes made are minor and do not affect an existing right, interest, title, immunity or duty, or an existing status or capacity of anyone to whom the bylaw applies.
