ANZAC Day Commemoration Parades and Services - Thursday 25 April 2019

Citizens are invited to attend the Public Commemoration Parades and Services to be held in the Paeroa, Plains and Waihi Wards on Thursday 25 April 2019.

Paeroa Ward

The Public Commemoration Service in the Paeroa War Memorial Hall starts at 9:15 am. The Parade will assemble in Marshall Street, Paeroa behind the RSA at 8:45am. Organisation Markers are requested to report to the Parade Marshal by 8:45am. The Parade will commence by 9:00am proceeding to the War Memorial Hall via Wharf Street, Belmont Road and Normanby Road, Paeroa.

Plains Ward

The Public Commemoration Service in the Ngatea War Memorial Hall starts at 11:15am. The Parade will assemble in Pipiroa Road behind the RSA at 10:45am. Organisation Markers are requested to report to the Parade Marshal at 10:45am. The Parade will commence by 11:00am proceeding to the War Memorial Hall via Pipiroa Road and Orchard West Road, Ngatea.

Waihi Ward

The Public Commemoration Service in the Waihi Memorial Hall starts at 11:00 am. The Parade will assemble in Seddon Street, Waihi beside the RSA at 10:30am. Organisation Markers are requested to report to the Parade Marshal at 10:30am. The Parade will commence by 10:45am proceeding to the Memorial Hall via Seddon Street, Waihi.

Wreaths will be laid during the service. All organisations and persons wishing to present wreaths are asked to contact Katie McLaren, on 0800 734 834 (freecall within District) or 07 862 5478 no later than 4:00pm on Friday 12 April 2019.


 

Notice of Intention - Litter Infringement Fees

The Litter Act 1979 provides for the maximum fee for infringement offences against the Act to be $400 and that the Council is required to give 14 days public notice of its intention to pass a resolution adopting this infringement fee.

Pursuant to Section 13 and 14 of the Litter Act 1979 the Hauraki District Council hereby gives notice of its intention to introduce litter infringement fees as shown below, with it taking effect from 2 April 2019.

Depositing non-dangerous litter of less than 1 litre by volume in a public place, or on private land without the occupier's consent.

Depositing non-dangerous litter from 1 to 20 litres in volume in a public place, or on private land without the occupier's consent.*

Depositing non-dangerous litter from 20 to 120 litres in volume in a public place, or on private land without the occupier's consent.**

$400

Depositing non-dangerous litter of more than 120 litres by volume in a public place, or on private land without the occupier’s consent.

$400

Depositing dangerous litter of any quantity in any place.

*20L is the approximate maximum capacity of two standard plastic bags.

** 120L is the approximate maximum capacity of a standard 'wheelie bin'.

Temporary Road Closure

Pursuant to the Section 11(e) of the Tenth Schedule of the Local Government Act 1974, notice is hereby given that for the purpose of a Motorsport Hillclimb event the following road will be closed to ordinary vehicular traffic for the period indicated below. During the period of closure provision will be made for ordinary vehicular traffic, which would otherwise use the road, to use alternative routes.

Date and time of closure: Sunday 10 March 2019, 10.00am to 5.00pm.

Road to close: Rotokohu Rd (last 1.6km), Paeroa.

Alternative provision for ordinary vehicular traffic will be made with signs, cones and barriers to redirect traffic on detour. 

It will be an offence under the above regulations for any person otherwise than under authority of an authorised permit to use the road for ordinary vehicular traffic during the period of closure.
