Keep those Love This Place (Long Term Plan 2024-2034)
submissions coming!
A message from the mayor of Hauraki District, Toby Adams
"Firstly, I wanted to say a big thank you to our communities – we’ve
been all across the district with our LTP drop-in sessions, and bar a few
heated discussions, everyone has treated a difficult kōrero about rates
increases and other high cost proposals in the 2024-2034 Long Term Plan
with respect, sensible debate and kindness.
On behalf of the Councillors
and the Council staff, we say a big thank you for getting involved in the
kōrero and keeping it real. We’ve definitely felt the aroha out there -
what an awesome community.
But it’s not over yet – feedback is open till 4pm on Friday 26 April!
Don’t miss your opportunity to have your say on the projects and
facilities we’re proposing to deliver to our communities over the next
10 years and beyond.
Ngā mihi.”

Have your say
We’ve focused on the two key consultation issues – flood protection on
the Plains and earthquake considerations for the Waihī Art Centre and
Museum, but you can have your say on anything in the Plan. In particular,
we also want to know what you think about our:
• Fees and charges
• Development Contributions Policy
• Rates Remission and Postponement policies
• Revenue and Financing Policy.
