Our Facebook page keeps our community informed and connected with Council news. Comments may be turned off on some posts, but when open, we encourage respectful and constructive kōrero. For help or service requests, please use our official contact channels listed on our Contact Us page. We welcome your questions and feedback - just follow our engagement rules to keep this space safe and positive for everyone.

  • Be respectful and inclusive. This is a space for positive kōrero. Offensive, discriminatory, sexual, threatening, or defamatory comments will be removed. Personal attacks on staff, elected members, or others aren’t okay. We value Te reo Māori - please engage with respect and avoid dismissive remarks. Let’s keep this page welcoming for everyone.
  • No spam or trolling. Keep the conversation genuine. Avoid posting repetitive messages, promotional content, or trolling - such as using GIFs or images to provoke, bully, or harass others.
  • Stay on topic. Share comments that relate to the post and add value to the discussion. Constructive disagreement is welcome, but repeating the same point across multiple posts counts as spam.

Our Communications team helps keep this space safe and welcoming by monitoring comments. If a comment doesn’t follow our engagement rules, we may remove it without notice and repeat breaches could lead to warnings or blocking. When conversations become overwhelming or legally risky, we may turn off comments on a post. Sometimes comments won’t be available.
