What to do
Before the shutdown, store enough water for drinking, cooking, personal hygiene and other essential household needs.
During the shutdown, avoid using washing machines, dishwashers and other water-using appliances to prevent potential damage to your appliances.
Make sure all taps are turned off before the shutdown and remain off during the outage to help prevent water running when the supply is restored.
If we need to make changes to the shutdown date or time due to unforeseen circumstances, we will deliver another notice with the new date and time.
When the water comes back on
Once your water supply returns, run an outside tap for about 30 seconds to help flush the pipes. If you don’t have an outside tap, you can use an inside tap.
You may initially notice some hissing or cloudy or discoloured water when you turn your tap on. This is normal and can happen when air enters the pipes while the work is being carried out. The water should clear after running the tap for a short time.
Please wait until the water runs clear before using washing machines, dishwashers and other water-using appliances.
