Total Mobility Scheme Assessments can now be done at the Waihi Community Resource Centre
Do you require assistance travelling to and from local appointments, shopping or social outings?
The Total Mobility Scheme is a nationwide initiative aimed at giving people with disabilities/mobility issues options for easier mobility. The scheme is now available in the Hauraki District thanks to the $8,000 funding contribution from Hauraki District Council Social Strategy Fund.
Subsidised travel in the district
The scheme gives registered users a discount of up to $22.50 per trip within the district. Residents of the district who are eligible must complete a Total Mobility assessment for access to the scheme. Registration is open to all ages and can be completed at the Waihi Community Resource Centre located at 4 Mueller Street, Waihī.

The centre is offering assessment appointments on the following dates for 2025:
- 19th March, 16th April, 21st May, 18th June, 16th July, 20th August, 17th September, 15th October, 19th November and 17th of December.
Once you are approved for the scheme, you'll receive your Total Mobility card in the mail, providing subsidised travel (within Waihī and surrounds) with locally owned Driving Miss Daisy.
