As part of our commitment to providing safe, high-quality drinking water, Odlum Group on behalf of Hauraki District Council will be temporary shutting off the water supply to your area to carry out essential work on the primary watermain supplying Tūrua.
When is this happening :
Start Date: Wednesday 25th of March 2026
End Date: Wednesday 25th of March 2026
Time: 8:30am to 4:00pm
A second date of Thursday 26th of March between 8:30am to 4pm is proposed should there be any unplanned matters that delay the Wednesday water shutdown.
What to do:
We recommend you store sufficient water for drinking and hygiene before the shutdown.
If we need to make changes to the shutdown date or time due to unforeseen circumstances, we will deliver another notice with the new date and time.
When the water comes back on :
It’s ideal to run an outside tap or bath tap for around 30 seconds to flush out your taps.
When you first turn on your tap there may be some hissing noises and discoloured water may spurt out from the tap. This is due to the disturbance of the pipeline and air getting into the pipes.
Temporary supplies :
Council will provide temporary water supply to non-residential properties if required.
Which areas are affected :
- All of Huirau Road
- All of Gumtown Road
- All of Tūrua Township
- All of Orongo Township
- Hauraki Rd Even numbers from 576 to 815
- Hauraki Road Odd numbers from 573 to 803
- Orchard East Road 324, 403 and 424
