Ngātea Swimming Pool

There are two pools in Ngātea; the main pool is 33 yards long with 6 lanes, as well as a small learner’s pool. Heated to 27 degrees Celsius.

Facilities

Facilities include: toilets, changing rooms, BBQ tables and shade shelters.

Hugh Hayward Domain, Ngātea.

Swimming Season

Closed

Our Ngātea Pool is closed from 10 March 2025 and will open again in November 2025 (date to be announced closer to the time).

During the swimming season the Council employs lifeguards along with a supervisor to oversee the day to day operation of the pools.

Parents and caregivers are encouraged to dress babies and infants in ‘Little Swimmers’, which can be purchased on-site, so nobody has to worry about accidents.

Dates for the next swimming season will be announced closer to the time.
