Rating Area Maps

HDC sets targeted rates where the services provided are specific to a particular community or area within our District. We have developed rating area maps to make it is easy to see whether certain rates are applicable to your property. Targeted rates that are applicable to your property are itemised on your rates bill.

HDC sets targeted rates on all rating units in Community Hall Rating Areas for the purpose of funding community halls. A separate targeted rate will be set for each Community Hall Rating Area.

HDC sets land value rates on each rating unit within the following categories based on location for the purpose of funding drainage activity.

HDC sets land value rates on a differential basis on each rating unit within the following categories based on the extent of the service provided for the purpose of funding flood protection activity

HDC sets a land area rate on a uniform basis on all land within the following category based on provision of service, for the purpose of funding the replacement of drainage pumps.

HDC sets capital value rates on each rating unit within the following categories based on location for the purpose of funding the stormwater activity.

HDC sets targeted rates for water supply based on, the volume of water supplied and, the number of connections to the supply on all rating units connected to a water supply, for the purpose of funding the water supply activity. The water volume rate is on a differential basis based on location, and the extent of the provision of service. Water supply rates are billed separately twice yearly on varying dates in the various water supply areas.

Water use over 10,000kl billed bi-monthly

Those rating units where water use is more than 10,000kl over the last two billing periods, will be billed bi-monthly.

Water meter reading areas

Instalment dates are staggered throughout the year, based on when certain areas in the District have their readings completed. The various reading areas are listed below and the maps will be added once they become available:

  • Waitakaruru and Ngatea North
  • Ōhinemuri and Kaimanawa

  • Waihī commercial
  • Waihī Gold

Rating Area 4

  • Ngātea town
  • Netherton
  • Paeroa town
