Viewing the Planning Maps
Note: For some areas the planning information has been distributed over two maps to improve clarity. If seeking the notations applicable to a Rural Zone property ensure that you look at both the primary map (for all information except the Outstanding Natural Landscape Area and District Amenity Landscape Area) and the duplicate map (if existing, for the outstanding Natural Landscape Area and District Amenity Landscape Area information).
In addition, you need to look at the Road Hierarchy and Rural Subdivision and Land Use maps (see below), as additional requirements may arise, depending on the location of the subject site in relation to the information shown on these maps.
To establish which map you require, first look at the Index Map and then select the appropriate map number from the list.
Other Maps
Road Hierarchy – Maps L1 – L3 show the location of collector and arterial roads and state highways in the District.
Rural Subdivision and Land Use – Maps M1 – M4 identify areas of land subject to Plains and Waihi Basin subdivision and land use rules.
Areas of Amenity and Outstanding Landscape Value – Maps N1 – N4 identify all areas of Outstanding Landscape and Amenity Landscape across the District.
